Privacy Policy

Stowed · Beers Labs LLC · Last updated 5 August 2026

Stowed measures your screen time so it can pay you for reducing it. That requires unusually sensitive access, so this policy is specific about what is collected and what is structurally impossible for us to collect.

What never leaves your device

Screen Time data is delivered by Apple into a sandboxed extension. Per-app usage, app names, bundle identifiers, content, keystrokes and location are never transmitted and are never stored by us.

The identifiers Apple returns when you choose categories are opaque tokens. They cannot be decoded. Stowed itself cannot determine which apps you selected — it can only hand a token back to iOS to be drawn on screen. That is enforced by the operating system, not by our promise.

What is sent to our server

That is the complete list. There is no account, no email address, no name and no phone number unless you redeem a gift card, at which point an email address is required solely to deliver it.

What we do not do

Why we hold it

Scoring is performed on our server rather than on your device, because a balance calculated on a device can be altered on that device. Daily minute totals are retained for 120 days so that baselines and reductions can be computed, then deleted.

Gift cards

Redeeming sends your email address and the card amount to our fulfilment provider so they can deliver it. Nothing about your usage is shared with them.

Your control

Deleting the app removes all local data. To delete server-side records, email support@stowed.app — no reason required, and the request is honoured within 30 days.

Children

Stowed is for adults managing their own device. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
